A brief tour around my area

Clicking the pics indicates a brilliant mind and a thirst for knowledge..... Or you were bored with nothing else to do.

I'm boondocked right across the street from this area. The building on the right is the security office, and about a block away is the Pima County Sheriff's substation, so I'm well protected.... Or you could say others are well protected from me.

The closed up building on the left is the entrance and ticket office for the  County fair they have every spring. And in the distance is the full hookup camping area I was at until I moved to this makeshift boondocking area I'm at now.

Another beautiful day today, longsleeve shirt in the morning but back in a T-shirt by 10 o'clock.

I'm really looking forward to one of the three barrel races that's coming up this Saturday. At least I hope it's coming up, my experience from being here last year was that despite what events were on the Pima County Fairgrounds website there might be an event and there might not, and I would never know until I saw a bunch of horse trailers looking for places to park.

But most of the horse events would take place because their in a large arena, and there's no actual spectators just family members that are watching. So it was a relatively safe place to be despite the Bat flu.

Next week on the 13th there's supposed to be a high school rodeo, which of course includes barrel racing, last year the rodeo was canceled because of the Bat flu. So when it comes to kids and school related stuff you never know what's going to happen with the Bat flu still in the headlines.

I was hoping I would get a chance to drive down to Wilcox Arizona for a few days and try to find some Sandhill Cranes. But it looks like that's not going to work out this month without me having to hurry back and forth, and I definitely don't like to hurry for anything if I can help it. So I'm just planning on going to Wilcox when I leave Tucson and that way I can give the Sandhill Cranes all the time they deserve.

Theboondork

This is called Central Park. It's a park like area where folks can wander around, see the flowers, sit in the shade, and there's a bandstand for any small musical acts the Fairgrounds may have.

This is another picture of Central Park, it's a fairly big area, and later in the year has lot of flowers, and people walking around enjoying the shade.

This is the Cantina, I've always called it the Arch for obvious reasons. It's a large outdoor dining area where they have food and outdoor dining for conventions and other large gatherings like that.

Just down the street from the Arch is this stage for the outdoor theater. When I was stuck here during the pandemic I took a lot of pictures of this outdoor stage because I was camped right next to it.

This stage is where they held a local high schools rather somber graduation ceremony, thanks to the Bat flu pandemic, where the kids had to stay in their cars in the parking lot, and instead of cheering they had to blow their horns. I watched the whole event from my camping spot and found it incredibly sad.
