A change of plans

I went to bed last night thinking I was going to pull the Arctic Fox up to Parker today, do some banking and grocery shopping and return to Quartzsite Sunday or Monday. But when I got up this morning I didn't feel like doing that anymore and instead just made a quick trip to Parker and returned to Quartzsite.

I'm not sure what made me change my mind but I'm glad I did because pulling the Arctic Fox up there would've been a bad move.

There apparently was some kind of off-road race being held this weekend which I determined based on giant welcome racer signs everywhere, trailers full of off-road racing cars, and the roads and the town being packed with people.

There was a line at the Wells Fargo bank so that took longer than expected, and Walmart was jammed. I had trouble finding a parking space for the truck so parking the trailer would've been hopeless. And staying at the Bluewater casino overnight wouldn't have worked either because the casino was some kind of a staging area for the race cars

So instead of being able to leisurely shop at Walmart at 11 o'clock at night when there was hardly anyone there, like I had originally planned, I had to deal with packed aisles and slow-moving people. If I don't get the flu from this I must be invulnerable.

Oh well, at least I got my banking done that was the most important thing. I've got some groceries now so I won't starve, so there's nothing left to do but start counting off the days to see if I caught the flu.

Just so folks won't think that you have to boondock when you come to Quartzsite I just wanted everyone to know that there are numerous RV parks in town. So if you have the burning desire to snuggle up awning to awning with a complete stranger and listen to THEIR TV you can find your happy place in Quartzsite.
