Autumn at the Bosque Del Apache

Well, tomorrow is a big day, at least for me, when I will finally get to check into the Lost Dutchman State Park, and I can stop worrying about making it there on time and start enjoying not only being there, but the rest of my winter travels.  It feels like my whole trip so far has been about getting to the Lost Dutchman, and I'm missing that feeling of waking up in the morning and deciding if I want to stay where I'm at or go somewhere else. Usually, I choose to stay where I'm at, but  being able to make that decision gives me a feeling of freedom that I don't have now and sorely miss.

One of the things I want to do while I'm there is visit the Boyce Thompson Arborioum, which is about 30 miles down the road from the loss Dutchman near Superior, Arizona.  https://www.btarboretum.org/   There's also some boondocking in that area, which will be easier for me to explore while the Arctic Fox is comfortably residing at a state Park.

I visited the  Boyce Thompson arborioum a couple of years ago and enjoyed taking pictures of the plants and flowers. Since it changes with the seasons, there's always something new to see. And maybe I can find a suitable boondocking area that will keep me around a while longer, which would be great because there are approximately 5 miles of trails, not all of which are flat, that take you past the plants and gardens. And in the past, I've had to see it all in one day, taking pictures along the way, which is somewhat tiring. But if I could boondock in the area, I could visit the gardens for two days and might get better pictures, and certainly won't be so worn out.

I'm looking forward to getting out in the desert one of these days so I can ride the little Beta 250. It's been a while since I've ridden it, and I miss the feeling of the wind blowing through where my hair used to be. I noticed the other day that the cover I keep over the little Beta is falling apart. The Arizona sun has baked the fabric, so it's weak, and now the wind is starting to tear it. It looks like I'm due for a new cover.

Not all of the Spanish Missions survived. It looks like this one in San Antonio New Mexico didn't make it.

The Snow Geese and the Sandhill Cranes seem to get along okay. But they still stay in separate groups.
