am I really going to run for president?

The sun rises on another glorious day at my boondocking neighborhood.

Another beautiful, sunny, warm day in southern Arizona. But I'll be moseying out of here soon and heading for the Phoenix area.

Well, color me embarrassed! I somehow wrote on my wall calendar that the annual Arizona Outdoor Expo held at Ben Avery gun range starts on February 23, when it actually starts on March 23. Some heartless folks could possibly blame this tiny mistake on my advanced age and that I am no longer qualified to hold any position of power other than possibly the President of the United States, where cognitive abilities don't seem to matter.

But I can assure everyone that I am positively not going to run for President since writing this blog takes up most of my day, leaving me little or no time to do presidential things such as riding bicycles, walking up stairs, and eating ice cream. Although, I might be able to write this blog during a national emergency and eat ice cream at the same time.

Now that I've dashed everyone's hope of me becoming President, I need to return to the central point of this blog post, which is I now have a couple of extra days before I want to get to Ben Avery for the "End of Trail" cowboy shoot, which I have double checked, and am relatively sure, begins on February 26, and continues for five or six days. This gives me about a week to do whatever I want before I show up at Ben Avery.

And looking over the whole situation it appears my options are;

Take a brief trip to Laughlin, Nevada, and boondock in the casino parking lots. And that would put me about 200 miles from Ben Avery when I need to head back.

I could backtrack to Quartzsite for a couple of days and then head for Wickenburg, boondocking on school trust lands, watching some team roping, and from there trundle the 40 miles down the road to Ben Avery,

And lastly, since all that requires a lot of thinking and planning on my part, and I am notoriously bad at both thinking and planning, I could just wake up every morning and do whatever I want to do that day and not think about what to do tomorrow.... Until the next day.

WOW !! What a rig. I guess this would have to be the pinnacle of boondocking prestige and comfort.

One of the weird things I've never seen before is what looks like a slide-out in the living room, in the middle of the fifth wheel, is actually a ramp, see all the hinges at the bottom of the "ramp," and the latches on both sides that allows you to put something in the trailer cross-ways. What that would be I can't imagine.

He didn't stay here long. Those of us that are too poor to afford even one of the tires on his truck threw our dirty laundry at him until he packed up and left...you wouldn't believe the amount of dirty laundry boondockers carry around all the time.
