I went over to  Manitou Lake this morning, which is right next door to the campground, and took a few pictures. There was a dozen or so people fishing but I didn't see anyone catching anything. It's been a while since they stocked the lake and I think it's about due in fact they might stock it tomorrow to get it ready for the weekend crowd that will be here. The campground host told me that this campground has been full every weekend since Memorial Day.

Most of my day was spent putting taillights on my motorcycle carrier and moving the trailer tag from the back of the trailer to the motorcycle carrier. It seemed like a pretty easy job and living in my house it would have been. But living in the trailer I no longer have a garage full of nuts and bolts and screws and pieces of wood and stuff like that. So now every time I have a small project I have to go to a hardware store and buy every single piece that I will need for the project instead of just using leftovers and scraps from other projects.

Tomorrow I'm going to go down to Colorado Springs and get a few tools from Harbor Freight. I know, I know, Harbor Freight tools aren't exactly Snap-on's, or Mac. But for light jobs and limited use like I do now they work just fine and they cost probably one fourth of what good tools cost. I mainly need a metric socket set and metric wrench set for the motorcycle.

I haven't accomplished much today because it's been so hot. Yesterday and today it's been in the high 80s and considering that I'm about 8000 feet high that's pretty darn hot. I don't remember it getting this hot in the middle of June before, these temperatures make it seem like late July or early August instead of the middle of June. They said were having a heat wave and I definitely believe that, I just can't believe it's coming this early. But tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70s so maybe I can get out and accomplish a few things.

I know that the heat is not the only reason I'm not doing much, there's also a certain amount of laziness causing me to want to sit in the living room with a fan blowing on me instead of getting anything done.   So how lazy am I ?   Well  there's a lake stocked with rainbow trout that's a 10 minute walk from the Arctic Fox,  I have a brand-new Shimano Stradic C14+ 1000 spinning reel hanging from a St Croix ultralight rod, a Colorado resident geezer fishing license that cost a dollar, and I'm sitting in the trailer with a fan blowing on me.... how's that for being lazy ?

The Forest Service developed campground I'm in is called the Colorado campground. It's a very nice place and I'm told it's the largest developed campground in the Pike national forest with about 80 sites. It's all Boondocking of course but there are water spigots scattered throughout the campground. It's only about 4 miles north of Woodland Park on Highway 67 so it's close to any kind of shopping that you might need. It costs $20 a night for most folks but if you have a National Parks and Federal recreational lands pass [ Geezer Pass ] it's half price.

I would definitely recommend that if you want to visit any of the forest service developed campsites around the Woodland Park area on a weekend in the summer, that you make reservations. On the other hand if you come on a weekday there appears to be plenty of room.
