I've seen these "hair pants" in pictures and in museums but I had never seen any in person before. These are chaps that are worn in the winter to keep the cowboy from freezing to death, and in a 40 below zero Montana winter you need all the help you can get.
The cowboys rocking chair
This is something I've never even heard of before. Their leather stirrup covers to keep the Cowboys feet warm in the winter.
The Cowboys rig. Cowboys usually own several horses so they need a trailer to carry them around. And the whole rig is often driven off road and on beat up dirt roads. Everything takes a beating and doesn't last very long.
Cowboys shoe their own horses. It's just one of the many skills they have to learn.
After a long hot 12 hour day In the saddle the cowboy has to come back and take care of his horse which is not helped by the horse leaning on you and nibbling at your hair.
