Today I drove up to Congress and scouted around in some BLM areas and found some really great boondocking spots. I found some sites that are easy to get to, within a few miles of town and the dirt roads to get to them are in pretty good shape, what more could you ask for.
I took videos and pictures and I'm in the process of turning them into a movie. There's two different places I went to so I've got two movies to work on. With any luck I hope to have one finished tomorrow, but it always seems like these videos take longer than I think they will. But if you want to boondock without driving down 20 miles of bad dirt road I've got just the place for you, stay tuned.

Well I finally got to go out Scouting for boondocking spots, there was actually one only about a mile away from the escapees RV park. I call it the burnt sage boondock site because that's the name of the dirt road that goes to the area. There is a gate that you have to go through that has a sign on it that says its State lands, and it is for about 100 yards or so then it turns into BLM. One thing I found out is that it's really hard to find borders of government land on maps , they tend to disagree sometimes wildly so you can never be absolutely 100% sure if you're on public land or not, sometimes you can but on the edges of public land it's hard to go by maps. I only went a mile or so down the dirt road before I came to a dry wash that looked a little sketchy, it had rained really hard the night before and I wasn't sure how smart it would be to drive through it. The sand was really soft just walking through it I was sinking in the sand but I'm pretty sure my four-wheel-drive truck could've made it through but there's no way I would have pulled the Arctic Fox through it. So I stopped at that point and turned back. There was still many miles of BLM land down the road but if I can't get there safely then it doesn't matter to me. Making the video took way longer than I thought it would, the thing is only five minutes long and by looking at it you would think it only took five minutes to make it, but believe it or not it took me over half a day to make that video. I hope I will get better with time and experience, but so far what I have found is that going out Scouting for boondocking spots is fun but making videos of it not so much. Today I went to Wickenburg and did some grocery shopping, and went to the rodeo. It wasn't a real rodeo, it was actually a roping competition. It was like a rodeo but without bronc riding, bull riding, and steer wrestling. But it was still fun to watch, and the folks that I talked to their were some of the nicest folks you would ever want to meet. I drove over to Congress today to see what it looked like and in several places I saw RVs sitting out in the desert usually beside some dirt road that led off of the main road. But checking my maps they were not on BLM land. I know there's some State Lands around here so maybe they were on that. But whatever it was they looked like they were boondocking. I will have to look into this further because for me to be comfortable boondocking I have to know for sure that I'm in a legal camping area.
