I'm from Minnesota; I think about half our fishing tournaments are ice fishing.

And I can understand why, you certainly have the weather for it. I've only been ice fishing once. I tried it when I lived in Miami but I kept falling in the water. Not being one to give up easily I did it again in Colorado when my oldest son and I drove to 11 mile reservoir at 3 o'clock in the morning, and -20° outside, rented a shack, and an ice drill, from the bait and tackle store, and drug the whole kit and caboodle to a part of the lake we were told was a good place to fish.

Plus your feet are on the ice! The only thing I found that would keep my feet warm was moon boots. They have a web with air pockets in the bottom that keeps your feet up away from the cold.

Not a bad idea Linda. But I've found a much better way to keep my feet warm, I call it, Southern Arizona. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
