Now that the holidays over I need to start getting busy accomplishing things I need to get done. I put off a lot of things for most of the year that need to be done until summer because I have family here that can help me, a big city like Denver has everything available a person would need to accomplish any task, and frankly I'm a lazy procrastinator that will put things off until the end of time if at all possible.
I've already got one thing out of the way when I renewed the tag for the trailer a few days ago. Normally you can do that on the Internet but since I had an address change last year I ended up having to go to the DMV and changing the address on my registration in person, it wasn't fast or fun but I've had worse experiences at the DMV.
Now I need to start selling some of what used to be my precious possessions on eBay in hopes of lightning my physical and mental load as I roll down the road of life. I don't mind taking the pictures of the stuff for eBay, and I don't mind writing a paragraph describing it, but I really don't like all the packaging, keeping track of which is which, and mailing it all out. I've never sent the wrong thing to the wrong person yet but I know with my lackadaisical attitude there's always a chance.
Then I've got to get my 10-year-old diesel truck in shape to pass Denver's very stringent emission standards test so I can renew my tag. Last year I spent almost $1000 tuning up, and cleaning the diesel particulate filter, [ DPF ] so it would pass, and I've got till the end of July to do it all over again. All of that for the honor of pretending to live in Denver, dealing with outrageous Denver traffic, paying high Denver taxes, and puting up with ridiculous Denver gun laws. Some folks might say, boondork your an idiot ! Why don't you move your legal residence to a state more friendly to RVers ? It's because there are some benefits for me to reside here, but most of all I'm a lazy procrastinator.
