Hiking with the horses

Clicking the pics is a good way to pass the time.

If you look behind the horses you can see parts of my truck and camper where I'm boondocked. While out walking this morning I walked alongside  the Budweiser Clydesdales for a while.

You can only imagine the excitement, the thrill, and the exhilaration those horses felt walking alongside the old boondork, it was probably the high point of their horsey lives. They tired quickly, after all look how heavy they are, so I signed their autograph books and kept on truckin.

It was a much nicer day today very little wind until late in the day. And it got up into the high 70s, T-shirt weather for sure.

So I spent some time this morning walking alongside the Budweiser Clydesdales as they went for their morning walk. And a little later, I moseyed over to the Hunter Jumper arena to watch the jumping horses do their stuff.

I've spent very little time at the RV show looking at the new RVs. I think an RV show is only interesting if you have at least a slight desire to buy another RV,  but in my situation, I don't have the desire to buy another RV, nor do I anticipate buying another RV anytime in the future. I believe I've found the RV that suits me best: the lowly Lance truck camper. I know it has very little status in the RVing community, being only slightly better than a tent. But so far, it's proven to do everything I need and do it fairly well with as little effort and stress as possible.

I think I'll go to Walmart tomorrow. I need a few things, but mostly I'd like to get a large order of red beans and rice from Popeyes. It sure is nice having Popeyes close by.

How embarrassing! I wonder how this young lady would like wearing that thing on her head out in public?

This Arab horse balked at going over this 2 foot jump with pink flowers on it. Arabs are not noted to be the smartest horse in the barn

On the warm up field there's no shortage of "experts" that can tell you how to jump.

This almost extinct desert grosbeak wire robber, which was sitting on a barbwire fence right behind the Lance, has the extraordinary skill to use its large heavy  beak like wire-cutters, and cut barbwire into small pieces and use that barbwire to build a nest. That spiky nest will keep away birds that try to rob the nest, and will also keep cattle and horses away from the nest since they stay away from barbwire.

The only problem with that survival strategy is every time the female lays an egg she can't sit on it because of all the barbs, which goes a long way to explaining why these birds are almost extinct.... This is bird knowledge you will receive no other place but here.
