I have reservations about reservations

One for the money, two for the show, click all the pics, and go go go.

I'm glad I'm trying the reservation thing for places to stay as I travel because the way things are going, that may be something I have to deal with in the future.

Initial feelings are I could probably live with it if I have lots of free time between reservations as I do now. I have a one-night reservation on the 11th and a three-night reservation on the 22nd. That gives me plenty of time to decide to go places and do things on the spur of the moment like I usually would without feeling too constrained by a schedule. And with any luck, I'm hoping those will be the last reservations I have to make this winter. But with the Bat flu and now the Finland Minks running around, there's no telling what my life will be like in the near future.

My picture supply is getting pretty thin and the cold, windy weather I'm dealing with at the moment is not conducive to picture taking. Couple that with a lack of imagination and minimal talent, and I may be forced to dig into a folder of old forgotten photos, call it a "trip down memory lane," and post pictures from the past. I'm not particularly eager to do that because I enjoy taking pictures, but when it's cold outside, and the wind is blowing hard enough to spread the Mink flu all the way from Finland. Taking pictures stops becoming a hobby and becomes work, and y'all should know by now how I feel about any form of work.

It looks more like a forest fire than a sunset, but I've been through both so I can tell the difference.

May be nasty weather up there, but you've posted some nice pitchers. Great bird. Sandhill I assume (I have to see the red spot on the head before I have a clue). And the scary clouds.

Yeah I can't tell the difference in a Sandhill Crane either in less I see the red spot on their head.

Thank you, I do the best I can with my limited ambition, limited talent, and limited imagination. But I'm running out of pictures and need to get to a place that's warmer and has a new view that will stimulate all of my limited abilities and give me something different to point my camera at.

Wow! That's one firey sunset. I've seen some great sunsets in Arizona but that one is spectacular!

Thank you Linda, you made my day. A cold snowy day, but a day nonetheless.

Sunsets are one of my favorite things to take pictures of. Everything has to be just right. The clouds have to be in the right place in relation to the setting sun. They need to be just the right thickness. You have to be in the right place so your view is not blocked by buildings like mine pretty much is here in Denver. And you have to be there at the right time, which is the main reason I get so few sunrise pictures.

And there's two basic places were all those things stand a better chance of taking place at the same time, the beach, and the desert. The beach is a little better because there's a greater chance of having clouds, but the desert gives you something like mountains or cactus to have in the foreground.

Great ones don't happen very often, but when they do to me it's a special time.
