Last spring down at Falcon and up Amistad I had no trouble or saw any trouble from folks crossing the border.

Like I've mentioned in the past I don't really worry about the people turning themselves into the border patrol when they wade across the river, those people aren't necessarily up to no good. It's the 600,000 got-a-ways that don't want to interact with any border patrol agents is what worries me. And you probably won't see them, or even know there their unless they happen to be desperate, and need food, water, your truck, some money, and you happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

As a retired law enforcement officer of 30 yrs. I learned to follow my gut. If your gut tells you what your course of action is I would follow it. Situational awareness can either by subjective or objective . My gut has always served me well.

Thank you for doing a very dangerous job Larry. Fortunately police work in the big cities of America has been reimagined to the point that cops are no longer needed so you were lucky to be able to retire before all the criminals disappeared and you had nothing left to do.

No thanks needed. Just like you and many others that served in the military, law enforcement, and teaching we came from a generation that had a desire to serve. Thank you for your service.

One good thing about growing old is I don't have to look at a history book because I watched it happen. Of course the downside is, I probably can't remember it, and even if I could nobody would listen to me because I'm old. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
