I'm not a Snowbird yet, but I Might be a snowchicken.

I took the lazy, easy way out  deciding if I should re-up at the fairgrounds or ease on down the road and re-upped for another week. I had been heavily leaning towards staying in Tucson and moving to one of the casino parking lots for a week or so, but I talked to someone yesterday that lives here and was told that during holidays, particularly holidays that revolve around drinking large amounts of alcohol, the casinos, because of the areas of town there located in, can get somewhat rowdy.

Now I've boondocked in two of the casinos in town, enjoyed every minute of it, and never experienced even the least amount of trouble or concern, but I've never stayed at one during a holiday so I don't have anything to go on except what this gentleman told me and having no reason to doubt his veracity I decided that discretion being the better part of valor, I would skip the idea of spending New Year's in a casino parking lot.

After putting the kibosh on the casino idea, and no place in Arizona appearing to be any warmer than where I'm at I decided I would spend another week in the fairgrounds boondocking area. But in an effort to avoid becoming a de facto Snowbird told the campground host to deny me the ability to re-up again under any circumstance.

Staying here turned out to be a lucky decision because when I woke up this morning the wind was blowing so hard I wouldn't have left anyway and it continued for most of the day changing my normal cloudy, chilly, days into a cloudy, chilly, windy day.

So my rut has become deeper, not so deep that I can't see out of it just yet but deep enough that I will probably have to use a step stool to get out. But get out I will, because no matter how comfortable I am in a place sooner or later the call of the open road will overpower my complacency and I'll be compelled to go.

These dragster's are so cute. There half scale to a real dragster and are called Junior dragster's. There only allowed to have a 5 hp single cylinder engine and they race for 1/8 of a mile instead of 1/4 of a mile like the big boys, and are capable of about 85 miles an hour. They have an age limit of 5 to 17-year-olds that can compete with these dragster's.

The new gadget I installed to hold the little Beta 250 to its carry rack. This is a lot quicker and simpler to use and will hold the motorcycle in place all by itself, but I will still have an extra strap on it just to make sure.
