I'm still not getting paid

I just laid around all day today, resting up from all the relaxing I did yesterday. I have found that when you relax a lot, you can't just jump right into doing something; you have to slowly ease into doing something useful, and that requires a day or two of doing nothing so you don't strain some of the muscles that you use to sit for long periods of time.

I've never been asked why I'm so good at relaxing, but I decided to tell you anyway. My dad always said, "Get a job that uses your brain instead of your back and life will be a lot easier." So relaxing was the perfect job for me because I use my brain a lot thinking about things when I'm relaxing. The only problem is I couldn't get people to pay me to do it.

 I got a job as a mattress tester in a mattress factory, but they fired me for sleeping on the job. I worked for a while in the La-Z-Boy chair factory, but they had to let me go because I was too lazy. My last job was working in the pill factory testing sleeping pills, but I enjoyed that job so much that I was working for free and ended up right back where I started, which was not getting paid for doing the job that I loved.

After that, I wandered around the country, starting the first homeless bum encampment in Los Angeles, and later, I started the trend of living under bridges. And now, after many years of endlessly searching for my dream job, I've settled into a life of being a semi-homeless bum who still doesn't get paid.

Now, some of you may think that I'm not homeless because I live in an RV, but think about it: when someone lives in their car, there called homeless, but if you put a box with a bed in it in the back of your vehicle its called an RV and suddenly your not homeless.

So my dad would be proud; I'm working with my mind instead of my back... But I still need to figure out a way to get paid.

If you've ever been to the town of Quartzsite, these pictures might remind you of why a lot of people come to "Q" every winter. It's not just for the nice weather, quiet often it's for all the flea markets scattered around town.

Where else can you find baseball caps three for a dollar... Except Quartzsite.

I'm not sure how well these folks do selling all these lawn decorations since a lot of folks here don't have a lawn.

In these small businesses it's often a family operation.

I don't buy anything here, no money, no room, but it is fun to walk around and look at things. And there are miles of flea markets in  Q.
