it worked out better than I expected

 There are some things that I could do, to make folks  click a pic or two, but often my pleas have been in vain as all my efforts go down the drain.

When I got up this morning, I decided to bite the bullet and take care of my shopping problems on what could be one of the worst days to go to a Walmart other than Black Friday.

I always assume that there are other folks out there with procrastination problems, just not as profound as mine. So when there's a shopping deadline, I am often correct when I imagine many folks have put off their shopping as long as they can, and I will be competing with them for goods and services at the cheapest store in town, generally Walmart... And I am seldom wrong in my assumptions.

But when you gotta go, you gotta go! And this is the day when I gotta go. Now, I guess you could make a case for Saturday not being the last chance most people have for Thanksgiving shopping because, for serious procrastinators, that would usually be Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, but since this is what I would call a working man's town, this weekend would be the last days off before the holiday when most folks could go grocery shopping. So I get to Walmart at 7 a.m., giving me the best chance of getting in and out of the store before lunch...

My cunning plan worked; the store wasn't crowded at all, and it just so happened that I was the only one in the store speaking English, which is getting to be more and more the case the closer I get to the border.

So, I ended up having a brief and uneventful trip to Walmart... Boy! Is it great to have Walmarts give you plastic bags to put your groceries in again, unlike Colorado, where plastic bags are verboten. So I was back home in no time, with my only disappointment being I had been erroneously informed about when the propane place was open. The sign on their window said, "Closed on the weekend." So maybe I'll return on Monday; I'm  sure I won't run out of propane before then.

The Elephant Butte Armada heads across the lake to the Rio Grande, with a plan on sailing the mighty river East until they reach the Gulf of Mexico where they will catch the trade winds, and sail around the Caribbean until they can join the Pirates of the Caribbean at their fortress on Key West, where they can drink margaritas and rum all night long with Capt. Jack Sparrow, and his band of Pirates and assorted miscreants.......

Just about then their wives tapped them on the shoulders and said wake-up! it's time to go to work!...
