School hasn't started here yet, so we went over to the elementary school playground which is only three or four blocks away from my daughter's house so the grandkids could tire themselves out.
It didn't seem to have much effect on them, but following them around tuckered me out.
I think my grandson goes back to school later this week, and then I believe in another week, or so, my granddaughter will start preschool, and they're both looking forward to it.
It was a mess last year with some days in school, other days school was on the Internet, and sometimes there didn't seem to be any school at all. The grandkids were young, and young kids can get over just about anything, so I don't believe they were affected by all the weird school stuff going on last year; it seemed to affect the parents more than the kids.
I'm sure the older kids were more overwhelmed by it because they live more social lives, so being without their friends must've been very difficult. But, on the other hand, I guess kids were lucky they had cell phones; it probably saved some of them from going crazy during the worst part of the pandemic.
I can't seem to shake this lazy mood I'm in. I need to be doing things, but I can't seem to work up enough ambition even to do the important things.
I need to fill up my empty propane tank, but I can't seem to gather enough enthusiasm even to put the empty tank in the truck, and running out of propane is at the top of my list of things not to do. When the hooked-up tank runs out, I lose my refrigerator and my stove. I will also lose my heater, but that's not a problem considering I haven't had to use it for three or four weeks.
I also need to paint the ramp I built for the back door of my daughter's house. I think I mentioned a while back that I was making a ramp so my daughter's little dog could get in and out of his dog door. Unfortunately, there was about an 8-inch drop-off outside the door, so the little dog was scared to go through his dog door. The ramp fixed that problem, but now I need to get some paint and pretty it up some.
I don't know what is causing me to be so lazy; it could be the heat, it has been in the 90s for a while, and since I'm not plugged in, I don't have any air-conditioning. It could be all the California wildfires smoke in the air; I think that's been making my allergies act up. But more than likely it's just terminal laziness, and I don't have any desire to do anything until the mood strikes me

As you can see the dog doors a bit too high for a little dog, and the drop-off from the dog door to the patio scared the little dog to death, the ramp fixed everything. As an added benefit that also made it easier for the grandkids to get in and out.
Getting back into the house is also easy for the dog now, before he couldn't even reach the dog door to get into the house
