Sunrise this morning.

It got very windy around here late yesterday afternoon, and I can attest that it's no fun living around all this sand with the wind blowing hard enough to pick it up and move it at a velocity slightly above the speed of pain.

I've mentioned in the past that the bronco has so many air leaks that it's hard to keep it warm when it's cold outside. Well, with all of those air leaks, you can imagine what happens when there's a bunch of sand in the air being blown directly at the bronco at 40 miles an hour.... The cleanup is going to take a while.

At the very beginning of my winter bronco travels, I regretted not bringing my vacuum cleaner, or my Dust Buster, both of which are safely ensconced in the Arctic Fox back in Denver. However, downsizing from the Arctic Fox to something as small as the bronco requires that decisions be made, some of which are easy, some of which are painful, and some of which are just plain stupid. I think leaving my vacuum cleaner in the Arctic Fox fits comfortably into the last category.

I see on the Internet that the dams along the Colorado River are getting dangerously low of water and may soon get to the point where they can no longer spin the turbines to produce electricity.

I wonder if anybody ever thought that even though the Colorado River has a lot of water, and Colorado itself does its best to keep that water flowing. Eventually, you might have so many people using the water in various ways that it could run out during climatic changes such as extended droughts, which have been happening off and on, since the beginning of time.

In other words, maybe the river hasn't changed very much, but the demands on the river are more than it can deal with. And the more people we have demanding the water for their crops, their cattle, their drinking, their industries, their lawns, their recreation, its simply not allowing the reservoirs to recoup the water being used. So maybe it's a people problem... There might be too many dang people...

Thank goodness we have total control over the amount of people we let into our country that are going to be using that valuable water resource, and the electricity it generates.
