I filled up a propane tank this morning at $2.90 a gallon, and I was actually cold standing outside, waiting for the tank to be filled. It only got up to about 60° today, which would've been okay, but the wind was blowing hard enough to wiggle the Arctic Fox a little bit; it wasn't wiggling enough to make me put down the stabilizer jacks, which I seldom do. But the wind made the temperature pretty uncomfortable.

But despite the wind, I got everything done that I wanted to do today, so tomorrow, I'll hook up the Arctic Fox, drag it over to the dumpsite, empty my black and gray tanks, fill up with water, and I'll be ready to hit the road tomorrow.

As much as I like it here at the Fairgrounds, It will feel good to get to a new place. Without having any events going on at the Fairgrounds, there's not a whole lot of things here that interest me, mostly because I've spent a lot of time in Tucson over the years and I've done about everything there is to do here.

I'm debating with myself whether or not I want to go to Walmart tomorrow and stock up on a few things, or wait till I get to the Wickenburg area and buy groceries at Safeway or Bashas'. Those are both nice large stores with a good selection, but their prices are way high compared to Walmart for the same items. The nearest Walmart is 35 or 40 miles away, and I think by the time I drove that round-trip, I wouldn't have saved any money over shopping in Wickenburg.

A coyote was wandering around the RV Park yesterday, nobody paid any attention to it.

This B 36 bomber was one whale of an airplane in its day and broke just about every record for a bomber. The most noticeable thing is the six "pusher" propellers, and four jet engines, two on each wing pod. The aircrews called it "six turnin' and four burnin' ". From its 20 feet tall, tip to tip, propellers, to its original 9 foot tall tires, they got rid of the big tires in this new version, it put every other bomber in the world to shame.

B 58 Hustler, bomber. It only stayed in service about 10 years. It was hard to fly, broke down frequently, and was very expensive to maintain.....I think it was built by Winnebago.

C 54 Skymaster. This used to be the major transport plane for the Air Force. My dad flew on these during the Berlin Airlift.

I loaded a few of these planes when I was in the Air Force but the Air National Guard was the only ones flying them and by that time they were looking pretty raggedy, held together with bobby pins and bailing wire.
