You reminded me of Tioga George who differentiated between day camps and night camps.

I remember Tioga George quite well. And since he was in a class "C" his situation was the same as mine with the truck camper. And since the only experience I've had camping as a full-timer was with the Arctic Fox and a couple of truck campers, to me having my home and my transportation in one place, all the time, just like a van. I much prefer having all my stuff in one place, and not having to leave anything behind while I drive somewhere else.... Even though I've never had the slightest problem while leaving the trailer behind.

The bosque is a wonderful place to go and you can look forward to being there. This hellacious summer will end sometime.

I feel sorry for you folks in Texas, its starting to look like you've got the longest lasting heat wave in the entire country, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight. It almost makes me feel guilty thinking about driving up into the mountains pretty soon just to get out of the Denver heat, which can't be very hot since I'm living in a camper and don't have enough electricity available to turn the air conditioner on....Yet still I complain.

SHHHHH - we're trying to live in denial about this heat wave. Today it rained: hah hah hah. For less time than it took to write this sentence. The rain drops on the windshield didn't get get to connect. The "rain" smelled like really really old dirt. But it's a change, right? The temp dropped to 93*F, about what it was at 3:00 am last night. So please please please help us out and take more pictures of mountain streams and how cold they are.

I sure do need another trip to a cold mountain stream, I thought I could wait until September to take another mini-vacation but now I'm not so sure.

I take full responsibility for the brief rain we had in Central Texas. Due to the drought my rain capture tanks were dry and due to concerns about fires I ordered and had delivered 2000 gallons of water. About 2 hours after it was delivered it rained. Most folks say wash your car to make it rain. Home car washing is not allowed so we can't make it rain that way. Ordering a water delivery makes it so. Tanks are full so I can't help call in the rain.

When you have a drought as bad as Texas is having, you have to be very careful Larry, not only with car washing but rain-dancing or washing just about anything. Washing the car to bring on rain has always work for me in the past. I have also found that the amount of rain can be controlled by the size of whatever you're washing. I once pressure washed my house in Miami and two days later there was a hurricane that dumped several feet of rain in my neighborhood. I've often wondered what would happen if the harbor in Miami washed one of those giant cruise ships.
