I woke up at 7 o'clock this morning, stuck my nose out the door to see what the weather was and saw this hot air balloon flying into the sun. I snapped this picture in my pajamas and call it...."I could've stayed in bed"
Well my plans to move over to the rifle range and boondock for a week or two didn't work out. It seems that in the last couple of months Ben Avery's changed it's camping policy and you're only allowed to stay for two weeks out of the month, and since I've been at the trap range camping for two weeks and inadvertently mentioned that while checking into the rifle range campground, they wouldn't let me stay. Bear in mind that the rifle range campground has 80 or 90 campsites and the only person there was the host.
So I moseyed back over to the trap range campground and talked to the boss who told me I could stay for two more weeks if I wanted to. Unfortunately the two campgrounds have two different managements and neither one knows what the other is doing so the guy I know couldn't help me get a spot at the rifle range campground where I preferred to be.
I'm hoping I don't have to stay here for another two weeks. I'm hoping my motorcycle stuff will be cleared up before then but I kind of doubt if anything will get done between Christmas and New Year's and it would surprise me if it did.
Oh well, if I've got to get stuck someplace Ben Avery's is a good place to get stuck. I think the biggest downside is with all the shopping and restaurants nearby I tend to spend more money when I'm in a place like this.
This is the headquarters building at the Clay Center. This is where you go to pay to shoot or to rent a gun if you need one.
