It looks like tomorrow I may have to bite the bullet, face the music, suck it up, and deal with one of the most dreaded problems full-timers have to cope with and usually put off until the situation is critical. But eventually we are forced to deal with an out-of-control situation when everything we've tried has failed and there's nothing left to do but hold your breath, say a brief prayer, and jump in with both feet... That's right, I've run out of clean clothes, and I need to do laundry.

Yes, I've done everything I could do to avoid it; I've turned my underwear inside out, so I'm using the clean side. I tried that with my blue jeans but couldn't reach my pockets. Turning my T-shirts inside out worked well because having the labels on the outside of your clothes is in style. But now I've turned them every which way but loose, but nothing is working anymore. And it's gotten to the point I left my truck keys in my pants pocket, and I caught my pants trying to start the truck and leave....probably with the hope of finding a better home.

So now, having exhausted every excuse and every reason to avoid it, I have no choice but to grudgingly drive into town and spend all morning at the Quartzsite Suds and Grub, part laundromat, part restaurant, and wash a laundry bag full of clothes. And don't think I haven't considered throwing everything away and buying new clothes.

But at least doing laundry is not as bad as it used to be because now that I have my home on my back like a turtle, I can sit outside in the camper writing my blog instead of sitting inside making small talk with the other denizens of Quartzsite. But no matter how I do it I still have to go in and out of the laundromat several times exposing myself to God knows what.

One solution would be putting a washer and dryer in the camper... Of course, I would have to do away with my kitchen and refrigerator to make room for the washer and dryer, and I would have to decide which is more important, food or staying away from a laundromat....come to think of it losing a few pounds wouldn't hurt.

When you camp in a tent you have to get used to the thought that the tent and everything in it may be gone when you get back from wherever you've gone.

So I would think the best plan would be to  buy the cheapest tent Walmart sells, and furnish it with junk nobody wants. That way it probably won't get stolen, and if it blows away, which is fairly likely around here,  you won't have to bother looking for it.

If I went into business again I would consider selling flea market stuff, since the owners of this shop obviously have time to sit in lawn chairs in the warm sunshine and read ... That doesn't happen if you own a restaurant.
