Drifting around sharp hairpin turns at a high rate of speed is the way you get to the top of the mountain if you're hill climb driver.

If you recall, I did some work on my little Bronco's refrigerator, installing two new fans and getting rid of the noisy and barely working one. And then buying a gadget that helps me see when the camper's refrigerator is level when I'm boondocked.

I attribute most of the improvements to the new fans simply because I still couldn't get the refrigerator to be level when I parked because I didn't have enough blocks to level the tires on the truck. So it seems that the leveling gadget I bought enabled me to find leveler places to park without a lot of effort on my part, the refrigerator still wasn't completely level, only more level than before.

I stopped by my storage room thinking I may have had a spare 12-volt fan controller so I could reduce the speed of the fans since they still make more noise than they need to, but I either didn't have one or couldn't find it if I did, so I'll order one from Amazon first chance I get.

But overall, I'm happy to report that my refrigerator is working great. The Broncos fridge was doing so poorly on my trips last summer that I assumed it was done for, and I even used an ice chest instead of the refrigerator because it was operating so poorly.

But now it appears that the new fans keeping the coils cool and parking the camper so it's more level than it used to be made a world of difference in the fridge and is now keeping the temperature in the reefer in the high 30s, and in the freezer, I've seen it get down to -10°. I have to admit that's even better than I'd hoped for.

There's a lot of places on the road where a few trees are the only thing keeping you from going over the edge. But there's other places where even the trees can't save you.

No smooth race track for these guys and gals, they drive on a narrow, rutted, bumpy, off camber road used mostly by dump trucks, and heavy equipment. And they're doing it at insane speeds that would quickly destroy a normal vehicle.

Don't you hate it when young kids are better than you used to be when you were in your prime?

Will the old boondork actually stand in the middle of the road while a race car comes at him at over a 100 miles an hour ???  Is there anything he won't do to entertain his readers ???
