My granddaughter will be graduating from kindergarten Friday the 26th, which gives me another reason to ensure I'm in Denver before then. I don't recall ever graduating from kindergarten; they kicked me out because I had grown too old to fit in their little chairs. And since kindergarten is where kids learn to finger paint and glue their noses shut, to this day, I'm still no good at finger painting or breathing through my nose.


Another rainy, cloudy day today, there was a little bit of sunshine, but it didn't matter since I'm plugged in anyway. From here, I'm going to Storrie Lake State Park in Las Vegas, New Mexico. They've got a Walmart there, and I can use a few groceries. And Storrie Lake State Park has plenty of boondocking, so I know I can always find a place to stay while I'm there.

It's hard to believe my winter travels are winding down; it's all flown by so quickly. My winter travels started with every place I went cold, cloudy, and rainy, and now heading back Denver, it's warm, cloudy, and rainy. But the good news is, all that bad weather I had to deal with this last winter, filled up the rivers and streams and brought big snowfalls to the mountains, so there's plenty of water for everyone now.

One of the many campers at the full hookup sites. These folks sure have a lot of stuff to pack up, not only when they leave, but when they go to the store, they must have to put most of the stuff away. Or maybe they just leave it all laying here and hope nobody walks off with it.

The dog that's in a cage under that blue tarp doesn't look like he's having a great vacation. At home he's probably running free in the yard, and on vacation he's stuck in a cage all day.

Sunrise this morning at the campground, with a camper van of some kind hiding in the bushes.

A walking path I was on yesterday. It was either going up or down, very little of it was level. It was also pretty rocky, and I have found that most people don't want to step over rocks which probably explains why there was nobody there but me. And needless to say, it certainly wasn't for wheelchairs.

I didn't go far before it started looking like rain, or should I say even more like rain than it does every minute of the day, so I had to hotfoot it back to the camper.

This is the Santa Rosa dam just down the road from the campground I'm staying at.

It's an earthen dam, and they call it that because it's built on the Earth and not on the moon. It was constructed by the Corps of Engineers, which, if memory serves, is the same bunch that built the levees in New Orleans that catastrophically failed after Hurricane Katrina.

But I'm not worried, mostly because I'm camped on a hill and would be unaffected whether the dam is there or not, except I have to drive over the dam to get to where I need to go.
