Another beautiful day today, there so common now I'm taking them for granted, this is what southern Arizona is supposed to be like in the wintertime.

I drove over to the west side of Ajo this morning, I'm boondocked on the southeast side. Depending on what side of town you're on the area around Ajo looks different. Depending on where you are you can have flat areas covered with brush, Saguaro forests, or mountains. So I went to some BLM land that's hilly and covered with Saguaros.

I saw people boondocking out there, and it was a really pretty area, but the dirt road was too beat up for my liking and would be very hard on tires. If I didn't have a choice I would probably boondock there but to me being able to come and go whenever I want without risking damage to my truck or the Arctic Fox is important to me, which is why I like the old rodeo arena, the road is paved all the way to the arena so there's no risk of beating up my rolling stock.

it's rugged but pretty country if you like the desert look. I would love to boondock here If the road was just a little bit better.

I've been keeping up with this new and scary Coronavirus and I assume most of you have also because those of us that are teetering on the edge of geezerness realize that we are often the first to go when any new virus comes wandering along, so it makes sense to at least keep up with the situation and take whatever precautions are available to us.

The latest things I've heard seem rather distressing such as you can spread the disease a week or more before tests show that your sick, that of course will allow it to spread rather quickly. There are those of the opinion that this virus escaped from China's bio weapons facility that is located in Wuhan the Chinese city that's been quarantined, which could mean it's been designed to be more dangerous than normal. And if these things are true our government must know this and for some reason they've decided to continue to let travelers from China come into this country after only a cursory test that won't show anything even if they've been carrying the virus for a week.

It seems to me to be on the safe side the government would shut down international travel until the world gets a better handle on this new virus instead of allowing it to quickly spread across the entire world in a matter of weeks. Yes I know to do that would be a financial and logistical nightmare but what the government is doing now amounts to almost nothing, and I don't even understand how they can find commercial pilots to fly the planes to and from China and possibly expose themselves to this virus.

Every time something like this comes along, and they seem to with alarming regularity, I worry mostly about my Grandkids. My Grandsons in kindergarten and of course kids in school catch everything that's going around and bring it home, so that's a big concern for me. As for my own health, I don't worry about it.

Most viruses like this are spread through human contact and I have about as little human contact as a semi-normal person can have. When I'm around people, such as going to the grocery store, I'm not there for long so my exposure to viruses is very limited and the least of my worries.

One day I might step on a rattlesnake, or get run over by a 45 foot long motorhome driven by a 98-year-old geezer, or maybe even get food poisoning at a Whataburger, but I think living the life of a boondocker insulates me from most viruses so the Coronavirus is not going to interfere with my stress free life.....But I do worry about old geezers driving humongous motorhomes.

I got up this morning pretty early, got dressed and drove the three or four miles into town and made it to the downtown Plaza just about 8 o'clock. But even that early I still didn't beat some of the folks to the old Catholic Church that's right across the street from the Plaza, there was already half a dozen cars parked around the church. I was hoping for a car free picture of the church, but it was not to be.

I didn't take as many pictures as I'd hoped because the sun was just rising above the mountains outside of Ajo and it was absolutely blinding while facing in the general direction of east. So I couldn't take any pictures in that direction, and I couldn't drive around as much as I wanted to because the sun was blinding me. And I guess it's been a while since I cleaned my windshield as I could barely see out of it while driving east.

I did manage to get my propane tank refilled at $3.20 a gallon which is pretty high but everything in Ajo is a bit more expensive than most other places. I reckon that's the price you pay to be able to enjoy the Ajo ambience.

Due to the peace, quiet, and laid-back attitude of Ajo, which is all part of the aforementioned Ajo ambience, I have to report that in an effort to fit in to this environment I have become even more lazy, lethargic, and sedentary, than I normally am, and I didn't think that was even possible. I've put on a couple pounds, so now I'm at 207 and I'm spending more time in my easy chair than normal. And spending even more time in my easy chair wasn't easy to accomplish, I had to wake up earlier, and go to bed later just to have enough waking hours available to achieve that.

So due to my upsurge in weight, and my increased ability to relax for long periods of time without tiring out, I'm thinking something needs to be done and it needs to be done now.

Something this serious can't be taken lightly, and is too important to jump around willy-nilly grasping at just any quick fix. This is the kind of problem that must be given a lot of thought, solutions need to be sought, and remedies must be found, and this can only happen after serious reflection, a complete understanding of the problem, and weighing competing theories of various physical and mental therapies.

Since there's no time like the present and not wanting to put this off, I opened up a beer, and retired to my easy chair to give this issue my full consideration.... Relaxing in my easy chair doesn't bother me now that I'm doing it for a good reason.
