Today was moving day but nothing went as planned. The movers arrived hours late and were shorthanded so instead of thinking we would be done a little after lunch we didn't get done until about 7 o'clock tonight.
It wasn't the guys fault that did the actual moving it was the office that arranged the whole thing that caused most of the problems. But it's all over now and everything and everybody is safe and in the right place.
As you can Imagine getting the stuff from one place to another is only the beginning. Now it will be days of unpacking, arranging, and hanging things on walls, all while going to your regular job. Its going to take a while before this house feels like a home to my daughter, son-in-law, and especially grandson. For a 2-year-old boy it's been a mixed blessing, there's been lots of excitement and a lot of interesting things to do but it's been a major disruption to his normal life and schedule which has made it difficult for him to take a nap like he's supposed to or get a good nights sleep.
But everything is slowly getting back to normal as everyone gets used to the new digs. There's a big backyard that any 2-year-old would love to play in, an elementary school only 2 blocks away, and an RV parking spot for grandpa. What more could you ask for.
Here's my Boondocking spot next to my daughter and son-in-law's new home
I helped my daughter and son-in-law move a few things over to the new house from their apartment in downtown Denver. That looks like all the moving I will be involved with, now the real movers will take over Monday morning and bring everything over to the new house.
The weather's been pretty nice here not too hot in the daytime a couple of late afternoon showers, but no need for an air conditioner.
It looks like tomorrow's going to be a down day with nothing left for me to move and nothing much for me to do so I guess I'll do a little shopping and looking around the area. I've already found the Lowe's, the Home Depot, and Walmart. So about the only thing else I would need would be a couple of inexpensive restaurants such as, a Chinese buffet, a Mexican restaurant, and a pizza place.
Here are pictures of some of the flowers around the new house.
I got to my daughter's house about 2 o'clock this afternoon and stayed pretty busy setting up the trailer in their yard, unloading stuff from the truck so it can carry some things to be moved, ripping out some carpet from a couple of rooms. And right now doing some laundry.
I haven't had time to take any pictures of the house or my Boondocking spot but I did take these pictures of some flowers that are right next to the Arctic Fox. Tomorrow will be fairly busy also, we're bringing over a few things from the apartment but most of the big moving jobs will be done by the real movers which are coming on Monday. I've got several projects I would like to accomplish while I'm here but the most important thing is to spend a lot of time spoiling my grandson.
