I think this has been the hottest day yet that I've spent in the Arctic Fox without air conditioning. And what made it almost unbearable is it was pretty windy so I thought it not wise to put my awning out which meant all morning the door side of the Arctic Fox was fully exposed to the sun and heated up accordingly. That gave me a lot more heating than the Arctic Fox normally gets with the awning out which made for a pretty miserable day, and made me think seriously about spending the day in the air-conditioned horse barns.

Thinking back on it the hottest day I've ever spent in an RV was maybe 20 years ago when I was camped on my property in Tombstone Arizona on a day in September, and I'll never forget it because it happened to be my birthday.

I was in my Hallmark pop-up slide-in truck camper which didn't even have an air conditioner, and I remember the inside thermometer showing 111° while I was laying on the sofa, and laying on the sofa at those temperatures is just about all you can do. And let me remind you that September is the monsoon season in Arizona so the humidity was also really high.... That used to sound like a pretty terrible time to me but since the Bat flu came along I guess those are what I would call the "good old days" because I consider any day before the Bat flu as a "good old day".

Between the heat and today's windy conditions I suspended all of my outdoor activities. Back a long, long, time ago in the pre-Bat flu days, on a day like this I might go to my local Walmart and hang around in the air-conditioned store for a while, doing a little shopping and getting some exercise pushing a cart around. But now "hanging around" in a store is definitely not wise and may even be verboten.

I need to make a decision whether to re-up or not tomorrow and I still don't know if I should leave or not. If I do re-up I'm definitely moving over to the full hookup area of the RV Park. I don't like to give up and admit defeat but I apparently can't deal with the heat the way I could when I was younger so it looks like the government is right..... I'm elderly.

Have you ever tried to live in your RV with no air conditioning and the temperature in your living room is 102° ? ...... I have, so I guess that makes everyone who answered no a whole lot smarter than me.

Hanging from the outside mirror on the truck you can see my long sleeve flannel shirt that I wore to Walmart yesterday morning, yes it's that chilly in the morning, I'm sterilizing it by leaving in the sun. Since I'm in the desert to sterilize it properly I have to take it back inside just before it catches fire.

Another hot day today, it got up to a bit over 100 Which Is way past my comfort levels without air conditioning even in the low humidity of the desert. But it only gets that hot for a few hours a day, and I know if I really want to I can pull the Arctic Fox across the Street and stay at a hookup site, but I'm getting used to it so it's not so bad.

As hot as it is I have to make sure I get anything I want to do outdoors done before lunchtime because after lunch it really starts getting hot. I don't have to imagine what it's like in the Arizona desert areas in the Summer because back when I was semi retired and used to travel just for the fun of it I was in Phoenix, Tucson, and even Yuma in the summer time and you don't know the meaning of the word hot until you've been in those places in July and August.

September is no picnic either, some consider it worse because not only can it be 110°, it's the monsoon season so it can also be 80% humidity, and with the humidity that high the swamp coolers that pass for air conditioning in these desert areas don't cool so your better off outside standing in the shade than you are in your house with swamp cooler running.

Of course I won't be around here long enough to experience any of that again because I'll be doing my best to head North or at least higher in altitude before too much longer.

Late yesterday afternoon I was rooting around in the Internet and stumbled onto my local Walmart's website and found out they have their Geezer hour, when only us geezers can shop, every Tuesday from 6 to 7 AM, and even though I haven't run out of anything there are a few things that would only last another week or two so I figured I'd better stock up a bit before May 1 when the world might change for the better, or for the worst..... or maybe not at all.

This would also give me a chance to test my new homemade facemask to see if it would hopefully scare people away from me and make that 6 foot distance thing a bare minimum when people realized they would be much safer staying 50 feet away from me. But since everyone in the store was wearing a facemask it didn't have the effect I was hoping for, but I found out that if I rolled around on the floor having a coughing spasm every once in a while it would clear out an aisle pretty quick.

The canned soup section, where I had hoped to spend some time stocking up, was rather pitiful, they even had a one item limit on soup and no flavors left that I liked so that was a bummer. They did have toilet paper but I stocked up on that a long time ago, I didn't see any paper towels or Kleenex which is not good because with my allergies this time of year I'd rather run out of food than Kleenex.

They had water in gallon jugs with no limit. They had plenty of cheese but their butter supply was very low, and none of the good brands. they did have the Orval Redenbacher's popcorn that I like, but only in the smaller containers so I had to buy a bunch of them. And the same thing with V-8 juice, no limit but they only had the smaller bottles. I was very pleased to see the shelves were full of the Wuhan Pickled Bats that I'm so fond of but again they only had the small jars that have four Bats per jar but with no limit needless to say I stocked up.

20 minutes later I rolled out of the parking lot happy to get that over with and hopefully won't have to do it again for a while. Grocery shopping is just not that much fun when I have to get out of bed at 5:30 in the morning, dress up in a hazmat suit and deal with a bunch of geezers that can't make up their mind if they want the regular Pickled Bats or the Spicy Pickled Bats, regular or spicy, regular or spicy .... For Christ sake get one of each and get the heck out of my way.

These bushes are about 7 or 8 feet high and covered with white flowers which just recently started blooming.

I have no idea what these flowers are and don't even possess enough knowledge to guess, they could be an orchid or a sniveling willow for all I know. By the way a sniveling willow is just like a weeping willow, but more annoying.

A rose is one of the few plants I can identify. In less its a weird Rose and looks like something else.
