A beautiful day

Clicking the pics reminds me of being in the mountains... Which is a place I'd rather not be this weekend.

It was a beautiful day today, a little cloudy in the afternoon, but that's okay; the Arctic Fox's batteries were charged up before noon.

I went to Colorado Springs this morning, only about 70 miles from me. And it was such a nice day I took the long way. The long way winds through the foothills, past ranches and Aspen-covered hills before it comes back into I-25, where I have to merge, both mentally and physically, with traffic, hordes of people, and the noise of civilization once again.

More traffic was obvious today, as folks that were able ditched work and started heading to the mountains for the 4th of July holiday. A lot of folks have learned that it's hard to find a Primo camping spot in the national forest if you don't get there early. I saw some RVs yesterday driving through the neighborhood loaded up with groceries, boats, quads, and other boys' toys, which is an unmistakable sign for me to hunker down at home and wait for it all to blow over.

The Lance in its natural habitat. I stopped at a Park on the way to the Springs to take a few pictures of the camper when it wasn't parked in the driveway.

There were a few people at the park. There were folks unloading bicycles, electric ones no less. And from what I've seen it must be really difficult to sell a bicycle that you have to peddle. I wonder how long will be before electric bicycles are an Olympic sport.

If you look in the upper left of the picture, you can see a guy on a bicycle hurtling down the slope, but it may require clicking the pic. There's a lot of hiking and bicycle trails that run through this Park.

This is the kind of area the Lance belongs. Mountains, dirt roads, and blue skies

A couple of cowgirls were unloading horses. I could tell these were some smart women because they were carrying a spare horse in case one of theirs breaks down.

I can just tell, the Lance is gonna love the mountains and the desert.
