There's a surprise that opens up with every click of the pic..... Surprise!!! It's just a bigger pic.

Tucson Arizona sunrise..... And It's already 70° outside! Oh the humanity.

I went for a walk around the Fairgrounds today to see what was going on, and there didn't appear to be much of anything going on, so I walked back home to start getting the Arctic Fox cooled off before it gets too hot after lunch. I have found that if I leave the Arctic Fox locked up until about lunch, it's almost impossible to cool it off until dinner time. And by then it doesn't matter because the temperatures are dropping down into the 60s by then anyway.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I had two places that I considered spending the night on the way to the Pima County Fairgrounds. One was the Elks club in Gila Bend, that you don't have to be an Elk to stay at overnight, it's donation only. The other place, in case that one didn't work out, was a big truck stop only a couple miles outside of Gila Bend where they have a small RV Park, and free camping just outside the RV Park.

Well things weren't going my way when the big Elks club parking lot was closed up and empty. And the Shell truck stop had been completely redesigned and they did away with the overnight RV parking as far as I could tell, so that didn't leave me with many choices except to press on and make it to Tucson. Which is why I made it here quicker than anticipated.

A bit of good news today. I've heard that the New Mexico state parks are actually going to reimburse those of us for the camping time we missed while having the out-of-state annual park pass during the Bat flu pandemic. How they're going to do that isn't clear, but the fact that there going to do "something" makes me feel a whole lot better about the way there going to handle the "loss of enjoyment" in the bat flu situation.

The roses are just about done for the year. There's very few left and their looking a bit worse for wear.

The indoor horse event center is getting a brand-new floor.....If only there was a horse to enjoy it.

Yes indeed, in fact I have done something I so seldom do it actually pains me to stoop so low. But against my better judgment I have actually been forced to make a reservation at Elephant Butte state Park near Truth or Consequences New Mexico. For five days starting the 15th of April.

Here's a bonus question for you which has nothing to do with anything at the moment. And the question is. How did Truth or Consequences get its name?

One reason I've had to make a reservation is you now have to make a reservation before you can camp at a New Mexico state Park. No way around it, and actually Colorado has the same requirement.

The other reason is, I need to buy an out-of-state season pass, and I can't do that without being at the park, and I can't stay at the park without a reservation, it's kind of a Catch-22 situation.... If you happened to read the book by Kurt Vonnegut.

Game Show years ago gave them the name.

I thought I saw a spot in the NM site to buy the season pass by internet.

Yes you are of course right, the game show Truth or Consequences, starring Ralph Edwards, promised he would have his show their every year if a town changed it's name to Truth or Consequences. They did, he did, and he's now the most famous man in town.

There probably is a way to buy them on the Internet, but I don't know if I'm going to be here long enough to get mail, or prove I ever had one. These are unique circumstances were facing today, and since I can buy them at any State Park I figured I would just wait so I could show them my receipt.

Wish I had a burning desire to be someplace in particular. Rent runs out April 15 and I really want to roll.

I'm not sure how long I'll stick around here either. But I do need to get up a little higher before it gets too hot down here.
