It was a very quiet and peaceful day today. Most of the boondocker's are gone from the area I'm at and there's only five or six RVs down on the beach. But it will be a short-lived respite as the holiday weekend looms large on the horizon.
I went to Walmart this morning and bought a few groceries, and on the way home I filled up the truck with fuel. I still had about half a tank but if I'm near a gas station I like to keep it full. There's no overpowering reason for me to do that I just feel it gives me a little more freedom to come and go as I please if I have the fuel to do so. I guess you could stretch it and say that it gives me a little more safety being able to bug out if there's a fire, a flood, rioting, global warming, or a volcanic eruption.
It's well known in the scientific community that when Mount Vesuvius erupted and destroyed the Italian city of Pompeii most of the people died because they couldn't get away, and a lot of them couldn't get away because they didn't have enough gas in their cars..... I'm not going let that happen to me.
