Another hot day in Denver with temperatures around 100° which would be almost unbearable if it weren't for humidity in the teens. It's the kind of weather that standing in the sun feels like your baking, but if you're in the shade, it's downright comfortable.
Now that I've got my doctor checkup out of the way and was deemed by a medical professional to be still alive, but flat broke and terminally lazy. I can now move on to getting my eyes checked and some much-needed new glasses, which will enable me to see well enough to renew my driver's license by September.
My last Bat flu shot will be this Friday, so I'll probably wait till next week to set up an eye exam appointment. Then Monday, they're putting a new windshield in my truck, and Tuesday, my truck will hopefully pass its emissions test so I can get a new tag by the end of July.
This summer has been hectic for me, and all of these appointments have seriously cut into my relaxing and mini-vacationing time. I'm much happier when I can wake up in the morning and think to myself, "what do I WANT to do today?" Instead of "what do I HAVE to do today?"
One bit of good news is I haven't been called for jury duty yet. And if the county will continue to forget about me until this September, I will be 75 and can officially opt out of jury duty. I'm looking forward to never having to worry about jury duty again. Although I do somewhat regret not having sent anyone to the electric chair since there are soooo many people that truly deserve it.
