Between rain showers today I lifted the bronco camper off the bed of the truck a couple of inches, pulled the truck forward about 3 feet, put my old spare fuel tank in between the camper and the front wall of the truck bed, backed the truck up until the front of the camper touched the 2 x 6 the fuel tank is sitting on, and then lowered the camper into the bed of the truck.

All of that went almost as fast as the time it takes me to write about it, electric jacks are a wonderful thing. The only hitch was one of my tiedown chains ended up being about one link to short so I went to the hardware store bought a "quick link" and that solved the problem.

So now the bronco camper has been slid back from where it was about an inch and 1/2. The dump valves are no longer touching the tailgate and I have my cherished spare fuel tank back where it's supposed to be. And even though there's other things I want to do to the little Bronco, like put a rearview camera on it for instance, there's now nothing standing in the way of me taking a shakedown cruise except the weather.

the camper is hanging over the bed of the truck a little farther than I like, but the tailgate is no longer touching the dump valves so that's an improvement. I'll see how the camper rides when I take my shakedown cruise. But at least the trucks not doing wheelies at the moment, although it would be kind of cool if I could wheelie away from stoplights.
