I drove down to Tombstone this morning, it's only about 22 miles south of Benson and it's the big tourist trap in the area that everybody needs to visit at least once. I've been there lots of times, I've still got some property in Tombstone so I go there every once in a while just to see what's going on.
Tombstones Main Street, It looks kind of deserted. Maybe there's going to be a shootout
The famous Oriental Saloon, Where Wyatt Earp dealt Faro
The Bird Cage Theatre worth seeing if you like real history.
Tombstone is very touristy, about all there is anymore are restaurants, and what I call T-shirt and rubber tomahawk shops. About the only thing in town that has anything to do with any real history is the Bird Cage Theatre, the Courthouse Museum, Boot Hill and the OK Corral "sort of".

This is the man that discovered silver, and named his mine the Tombstone, strangely enough They built the town miles from his mine.
I'm gonna go back again before the end of the week to visit my property and to see if I can locate a couple of Boondocking spots that I've heard about in the area, although a place to boondock in Tombstone has become less important to me now that I found out what a great place the escapees Saguaro co-op RV Park is. And even though is not free like Boondocking, $330 a month for full hookups, plus electric of course, is not bad for a place this nice and convenient.
