Denver seems to have settled into a routine of beautiful mornings and late afternoon showers. Which is not so bad because Colorado usually needs all the moisture it can get.

I've been giving some thought to the best way to get in and out of the little pop-up camper. Getting out is fairly easy, you just step out the door and 3 feet later you find yourself face down on the ground. Getting in is a little more difficult.

The camper came with some folding aluminum steps that you hang on the back of the camper and they unfold into four steps that allow a fairly easy ingress through the doorway. But their a bit on the heavy side, difficult to handle, easy to pinch your fingers with, and can be quickly stolen if you turn your back. So even though this is what I will use when I'm camping somewhere for a while, their a bit cumbersome to use only once or twice such as putting groceries in the refrigerator after shopping at the Walmart.

I next tried one of my folding step stools that I use for various things around the Arctic Fox but it's only 1 foot high which isn't tall enough to make it easy to get in the door.

So I ordered a two step folding stool from Amazon which is 18 inches high and I think will work out much better. I also figured out that this camper is somewhat taller than the Hallmark pop-up slide in truck camper that I had previously, which means I can barely reach the latches that hold the top down and any of the soft sides that need to be tucked in when I put down the top, so this taller stool will allow me to not only get in and out of the camper safely, but reach all of those things that need to be done when cranking the top up and down.

These are the folding steps that came with the camper. They work well their just a little cumbersome to deal with. but when I'm camping these are the steps I will use.

This is a folding stool I use around the house. I can get in and out of the camper with it but I don't like to, it's too much like doing yoga. I Installed the geezer handrail the other day , It came with the camper but no one had put it on yet. You can see the folding steps inside the doorway, they don't take up much room.

And this is the two-step folding stool solution, not perfect but I can get in and out with poise, grace and serenity.....Even though the three of them usually refuse to travel with me.
