A cloudy day in Quartzsite Arizona

Since it was kind of cold and windy, and since I had sat around the Arctic Fox all day yesterday in the same kind of weather, I decided I needed to get out and do something, anything, so I went to Parker and bought some groceries at Walmart.

Highway 95 that goes from Quartzsite to Parker was as busy as I've ever seen it. It was pretty busy in both directions but there was a whole lot of RVs heading south towards Quartzsite. At the rate they're coming to town it won't take long before it will be hard to get around in Q.

The Walmart as one would imagine was packed. If I had been in an RV I don't think I could've found a place to park. And inside it was just as difficult getting around in the aisles, and of course checking out was a long wait because every checkout lane had six or eight people lined up including the check yourself out area.

So all in all the whole morning wasn't much fun. A 65 mile an hour two-lane road loaded with RVs is kind of stressful even though it's only half an hour each way. And it was hard to get around in the store because everyone inside was moving kind of slow. Now I'm not going to say they were all really old, but I will say there was a lot of liquor being purchased and no one was getting carded.

It's still pretty chilly in the daytime and cold at night around here and the wind certainly hasn't helped. But by Friday its supposed to get back into the 60s with little or no wind. I sure hope that's right, I'm getting tired of using the weather as an excuse for not getting outside and putting up my rearview cameras, I've got plenty of other excuses that need to be used before I forget them.
