Roses are red, violets are blue, winter is here, and I am to. An ordinary, almost cloud free, desert sunset last night.
The Ajo town Christmas tree. Red flowers in the Plaza. The old railroad depot at the Ajo Plaza.

It is about 18% empty sites here in the Rockport Texas area instead of the usuall fully packed parks by now. Several new parks are under construction also.

It looks like some folks are staying home, maybe because they want to, possibly because they have to. My daughter and her husband canceled plans for the holidays because of the Bat flu and the Colorado government restrictions.

Those RV numbers are staggering. Dunno what to think. I did look up the "artist residence.." It's an inn/hotel/possibly long term stay place. No apartments. But it looked nice. Rates start at 115 a night for a king bed with a kitchenette. So there would be some cash flow. Still, at my age, where would I like to die, enters my mind. I know i cannot afford Lake Como.

It's hard to believe anyone would pay that much to stay in Ajo. It's a nice place and all, but I don't know if I would pay a sizable amount of money to stay here. But living full-time in an RV kinda spoils you, and makes staying at a hotel sound like the last thing you want to do.

Keeping a telemarketer talking when you have no intention of buying can actually be fun. I see it as a way of keeping them from bugging someone else. I no longer do that, though, as I simply don't answer calls from unknown numbers. Keeping telemarketers on the phone was one of the ways I entertained myself when Dave was in Viet Nam so I lived alone. I even once made an appointment for a siding company to come give an estimate on a house I didn't own. At the time, that seemed fair to me; why shouldn't I waste their time as much as they wasted mine?

Telemarketers are a pox on the country as far as I'm concerned. I know there just trying to make a living but they ought to find a way to make a living that doesn't involve messing up other people's lives. Back in the days of land-lines, I hardly ever made it through dinner without a call from those parasites. But I put up with them because, other than going on a no call list, there wasn't much else I can do. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
