I finally made it to Walmart and the Pioneer History Museum this morning. And it was indeed a beautiful morning.

This is an old opera house from back in the day.

I've been spending a lot of time on the Internet lately instead of being outside doing something interesting. I've noticed a lot of politicians talking about the situation at the Southern border and how it's gone from bad to worse and reached a point where it's changing this country, and not for the better.

And when I saw the latest news of what's going on in Haiti, suddenly a bunch of very bad memories of why I packed up my family and moved out of what used to be a tropical paradise named Miami, Florida, came flooding back to me.

I believe the operative old saying here is, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Now, I understand that the history of Miami, Florida, is not taught in schools. Still, everything that went on there, starting back in the '60s and continuing through the '70s and '80s, was not only on the national news almost every night, but there were TV shows and movies made about that period in Miami's history, the movie "Scarface," and the TV show "Miami Vice", comes to mind so it would've been hard to miss.

And what's happening now in America is so similar to what happened in Miami back when I lived there that I can't believe it's accidental. The only difference is what happened in Miami happened on a local level. So, it mostly affected Miami and South Florida in general, and what's happening now is on a national scale, affecting the entire country. And I fear that if it becomes apparent that Trump may win the presidential election, even more people, some of whom are criminals, cartel members, MS-13 Gangsters, and human traffickers will redouble their efforts to flood into this country before Trump closes the gates.

I will continue with this story tomorrow because I don't want to make each piece of this blog post so long that it becomes too boring...or at least no more boring than normal.

The history of Phoenix is predominantly a history of desert farming, apparently you can grow anything here as long as you can get enough water on it. So there's a lot of farm implements scattered around the museum.

This hay-cutter made a farmers life so much easier, just hitch a mule, or your wife and a couple of the kids to the front of this gadget, and the hay fell as if by magic

Your concerns are well founded. Around 5.4 million known along with approx. 1.5 million got ways since this Admin. took office. Over 300,000 unaccompanied children. Unknown number of gang criminals, amounts of drugs, This is a quest for power and will alter the congressional landscape forever. Illegals are counted in the census and will likely tilt the House to one party for ever. Risk of terrorism. The hospitals are overrun and must provide free health care along with the schools. Schools can't afford to hire language teachers due to the diversity of illegals. Are the Cartels funding the political movement. Due to the extent of TDS on the left I fear that this election will lead to violence. I hope I am wrong. I am staying away from crowds and laying low as it may get ugly.

I try to limit political discussions on my blog, but sometimes I just can't help it. I completely understand no matter which way the discussion goes I will alienate half the people and make them unhappy, and that was never the purpose of this blog.

But I believe that yesterday's blog post, and today's blog post, which I wrote at the same time yesterday afternoon, are not actually all that political, and is more a statement of what can happen when either political party makes decisions that allows events to take place possibly from ignorance or bad judgment that snowball into a situation that are amazingly similar to what happened in Miami Florida During the 70s and 80s, and my fear that the same thing will happen to the United States, that happened to Miami Florida.

So Larry, I have scrutinized your comment closely and carefully and have determined that the statements you have made are true, as per the government's own statistics, and your opinions expressed are shared by folks in both political parties. And furthermore your recommendations on what to do about the current situation is based on common sense and not politics.... "Laying low" hardly being a political opinion.

So hopefully this afternoons blog post will end the Miami comparisons and I can get back to normal. On the other hand I'm not doing much of anything and therefore have nothing much to write about so I never know until I sit down and start talking what is going to come out of my dictation software.

You guys are just pussyfootin" around it. Biden and his gang are rapidly turning the country into a third world s++thole. They have not done ONE thing to make the country better, only to tear it down. Thankfully, at 78, I won"t be around to see the end result, but there are a lot of young people who are going to be terribly disappointed, but it will be to late by then. Goodbye, USA, hello Venezula.

I don't know if young people will be disappointed KennyD. When a country is taken over by an enemy army disappointment is instantaneous and easily noticed. But when a country is taken over from within, as it is now, the loss of freedom comes about almost imperceptibly, the news media will tell everybody things are great, college professors will tell the kids things couldn't be better, and the parents who lived through the loss of freedom are just bitter old fogies that nobody in their right mind would listen to.

I myself lived through an age, as did you, where we should never trust anyone over 30, and the rock group "The Who" sagely pronounced "I hope I die before I get old." By the way, they no longer appear to have that philosophy.

so I don't know if young people will even realize they've lost their freedom. I'm only 77 and I can look back at a time when I had much more freedom than I have now, and I have no idea where it went.... That's why the young are taught not to listen to old people, they might learn the truth.
