The family and I went to a small botanical garden this morning called Hudson Gardens that's only five or six miles from the house. It's not a very big place but it's in a pretty location right next to the Platte River and its just the right size to be fun for the grandkids without becoming boring or tiring them out.
The garden is free and run by volunteers so it's well-kept by people that enjoy what they're doing and really care about the place looking its best. It's a little early in the season for the garden and in fact there were a lot of volunteers there today planting flowers and getting ready for the summer.
We spent a couple of enjoyable hours there and I guess its no surprise that I took a few pictures, so it's probably safe to assume that the next few blog posts will contain some flower pictures.
