Ajo ???

Last nights sunset in Ajo.

I planned on leaving Ajo sometime next week to be there for the "Outdoor Expo." Then yesterday afternoon, a class "A" pulled in and parked about 50 feet from me, and their dog, which was chained to the steps, barked at me every time I went outside, but I figured I'd be leaving soon so I could deal with it.

When I woke up this morning, I looked out the window, and almost all I could see was the side of a rather large "class A." It took me a few seconds to realize that it wasn't the one that pulled in yesterday afternoon; another RV was blocking my view from yet another direction. So now, looking out my door was the only direction I could look, and not see another RV.

I don't know why other RVs park near me; are they lonely and need somebody to talk to? Are they afraid and need to be close to other RVs for security? Are they used to camping in RV parks where you're supposed to park elbow to awning next to each other? It's certainly not for lack of space around here. These rodeo grounds are huge, and with only three of us here, there was at least 100 yards between each of us.

But whatever the reason, I had just been surrounded by RVs and barking dogs. So now, dog number one was barking at me when I went outside, and barking at dog number two whenever he came outside. And dog number two reciprocated by barking back at dog number one, as dogs have a tendency of doing. All this barking was going on, and no one seemed to care except me! That's when I knew some changes had to be made.

I could've moved to another area of the old rodeo grounds, but I figured no matter where I went, I could still hear those dogs barking; everybody could hear them, except apparently the owners.

So I made a command decision, which is rare because I don't like making decisions, preferring to go with the flow mostly. Still, I decided Ben Avery gun range was where I wanted to be anyway, and it might as well be now, so 10 minutes later, I was packed up and heading for Phoenix.

In a couple of hours, I made it safely to Ben Avery gun range near Cave Creek, Arizona, and am now happily boondocking in one of my many Arizona happy places.

Yes I'm back at Ben Avery's gun range, yet again. Of course it is one of my favorite places to be. But this time it was memories of the "Outdoor Expo" that made me want to revisit. As you can see its cloudy and  raining off and on all day, but it was raining in Ajo when I left so there's no difference there.

I haven't had time to take any pictures except ones of my boondocking site. I'll get some tomorrow, hopefully it won't be raining.

I got two surprises when I got here; one surprise was I've never seen this many people camped here before, don't know why. And the other was I've never seen so many flowers here before, I'm surrounded by a billion gazillion yellow flowers.
