I know what you mean about hunters. I used to stream fish for trout. Waded up many a small creek. I remember one day, working my way through some brush along a creek and hearing a truck stop and hearing a voice say "I heard something over there in the brush". I yelled out "don't shoot, I'm fishing". LOL.

Every year during the Colorado hunting season somebody gets killed or wounded when someone thinks you're an Elk or a Deer. The universal orange vests and hat we have to wear while hunting helps a lot, but duck hunters don't have to wear that stuff.

When Dave's parents owned a cabin up in the north woods of Minnesota we used to go up there once a month. Except in November. Not safe to go there then.

Colorados weather can start getting pretty sketchy in November and can be beautiful one day and snowing the next. November is the time when the ski areas start opening up in Colorado, at least by Thanksgiving, because usually by then they've got enough snow in the mountains. One good thing about November is by then it's been cold enough that every bug in Colorado is dead. Which allows me even now to walk around in a swamp without getting bit by anything.
