I'm beat, I walked over to the rodeo arena at 8:15 this morning and walked back in my door at 3 o'clock this afternoon, it was a long day to say the least, and it's still not over, there was a couple more events to go so I'll stay and see those tomorrow.
Despite my aching feet I had a great time. Just like other high school rodeos I've been to the only people there were the contestants and the families, so there's no admission, and I got to wander around wherever I wanted to go and take all the pictures I wanted to take. In fact I've got enough rodeo pictures to keep my blog going for the rest of the year, so I'll just use them up when I don't have anything else to take a picture of. Not only that but I've walked enough today that I won't have to walk anymore till next summer.
But despite the way my feet feel, I'm happy and can't wait till tomorrow to do it again.
knocking over a barrel during a barrel race is a penalty, if you want to win you need to get close but not that close.
These high school girls can ride, they probably have been riding horses all their life.
There was a lot of roping going on today.
If you pass out from exhaustion and dehydration at a rodeo, when you wake up on the ground this is what you see.
Horses can do wheelies just like motorcycles.
These girls jump off their horses at full gallop with a piggin string in their mouth, why? Stay tuned.
What does a piggin string tastes like? dirt, goat, and horse manure.
