I stayed at an RV park in Quartzsite last night and it was really nice to have plenty of electricity and lots of running water for a change. But the best thing was the free Internet so I was able to pay some bills and play on the Internet without worrying about my phone bill .
I uploaded a couple of boondocking videos and put them on youtube instead of just on my blog hopeing that will be an easier way for me to keep up with it all. I also added a new page called videos, and this is where all the boondocking videos and do-it-yourself videos will be. So far I'm very disappointed in the quality of the videos after youtube finishes with them, I don't know what they do to the videos but they come out looking terrible. After I make the video and look at it on my computer it looks great, it's sharp and clear and plays just fine, but when I look at it on YouTube it looks bad, really bad. It must be something I'm doing wrong because I see other people's movies on YouTube and they look fine, I put the Hi Jolly and Plomosa video on Vimeo and it does look better not great but better, so it does look like YouTube is part of the problem but I haven't figured it all out yet. I'm going to leave tomorrow but I don't know where I'm going, I'm either going out to the Hi Jolly Boondocking area or going on up the road to Parker.

I moved this morning, I moved from Scaddan wash which is kind of close to I 10 over to the Road Runner boondocking area, some parts of Scaddan wash are very close to I 10 and can get pretty noisy. It's much quieter over here and the scenery is a little different, not much different but there are some Saguaro cactus over here. I'll probably stay here for two nights and then go in to town and stay in an RV park for one night, that'll give me a chance to clean up and fill up my water tank which is getting pretty low right now. I did a little project today to make the trailer better but it was such a simple thing that I didn't even bother making a video. I put a door handle on the screen door that makes it easier to close it behind me when I'm coming in especially if my hands are full. You see the doors on an Arctic Fox don't swing open and closed like normal doors, theres some kind of friction in the hinges that keeps the door from swinging. It's kind of hard to explain but if you give the door a push it will only open as far as you push it. It opens and closes smoothly but it just requires a little effort to do it. They told me it was to keep the wind from blowing the door open and closed and they seemed kind of proud that they made it that way, but nonetheless I didn't like it when I first tried it. After a while though I got used to it and now I actually prefer it to a free swinging door, if you spend some time in windy conditions it actually makes it easier and safer to get in and out of the door. I'm still in Quartzsite, I've stayed here longer than I thought I would but I've been making some videos of the different boondocking sites around here and it's kept me kind of busy. I haven't put them on the Internet yet because of my Internet problems but I think that day after tomorrow I will stay in a campground and use their Internet to do all the things I need to get done so I hope to be able to put them up within the next couple of days. I also replaced my furnace thermostat the old one wasn't working right, it either wouldn't come on when it was cold or it wouldn't shut off when it was too hot. A few months ago I had bought a digital thermostat and was just waiting for the proper time to change it. It got pretty cold around here for a few nights and the thermostat became a real problem. But now that the new one is working I can't believe what a difference it has made, the furnace comes on when it should and turns off when it reaches the temperature I set it at, so now I'm more comfortable and using less propane than I did before. I don't know if there was something wrong with my old thermostat or the digital one just works so much better but whatever it is it's the best thing I've done for this trailer in a long time. I took some video of me changing it but I haven't had a chance to put it all together as a movie yet.
