I know this picture looks like a box of Colorado Snow Snakes, [ Snow Snakes are white so they can hide in the snow ] but Since I installed a new water pump in the Arctic Fox I thought this would be a good time to put in a crossover line so I can fill up my water tank without leaving the trailer or using the normal fill port.
It gets to be kind of a drag to fill up the water tank when I'm hooked up to city water. I have to disconnect the water hose from the trailer, and pull it around to the other side of the trailer where the normal water tank fill port is located. It would have been nice if they had put the fill port on the utility side of the trailer so you didn't have to pull a hose to the other side, but they didn't so I have to play the hand that I was dealt.
This crossover line I just put in is designed to fix that problem.... hopefully. So in theory what's going to happen is when I'm hooked up to city water and I want to fill my freshwater tank before I head out to the boondocks, I just opened that red valve and city water will flow into my freshwater tank. And when my freshwater tank is full I close the red valve and everything is back to normal.
Unfortunately not being hooked up to city water at the moment I'm unable to test my theory. Just to be on the safe side when I'm filling my water tank with city water I will open the normal city water fill port just to make sure I don't build up any pressure in the water tank, because that can cause the plastic water tank to expand and possibly break something. it's right beside the door so it's very easy to do.
