See! I told you there were live Alligators living in Colorado. even though this little Alligator is just a baby, my granddaughter is very brave, how many six-year-old girls would be willing to pick one up?
all the pictures today were taken with my daughters cell phone since I wasn't there.... Nor did I have a desire to be there on a holiday.
RVs and boats came crawling back into the neighborhood this afternoon accompanied by worn-out moms, tired dads, and kids who fell asleep in the car. It will probably be a pretty quiet night tonight except for some fireworks since I imagine many of the survivors of the Labor Day holidays will only be interested in taking a shower and going to bed.
When raising a family, I always found it ironic that I would return from a holiday more tired than when I left. So I seldom found that holidays were a time to relax because I had to work hard to get everything ready, stay busy during the holiday, and then all the effort to get everything packed up and schlep it all back home. There were some fun times, and plenty of memories were made, but it was mostly hard work and returning home; I usually felt like I needed some time off.
Maybe that's why I like to sit around and relax during holidays nowadays; I'm just trying to rest up from all the effort I spent during the holidays back when I was working for a living.
So, is how tired and overworked the parents are the measure of the value of Holidays? Of course not.... it doesn't matter where they go, or how long they stay, it's the QUALITY time the kids spend with their parents that puts the smiles on there faces, and gives them great memories that will last the rest of their lives.
My grandson having a good time up on top of some of the sand dunes. Cats would love this place, it's one giant litter box.
My grandson and the family Hamster at the back of the line.
There's more places to hike than just up on the sand dunes.
It looks like there might be a touch of Fall in the air.
There are horses to rent nearby, or if your life isn't tough enough already, you can bring your own.
