I made it safely back to Ben Avery's rifle range campground and am currently boondocking in the group camping area. I requested this area because it's easier for me to park the Arctic Fox facing North so my solar panels are in the best position to catch the sun.
At least I'm not the only person in the campground now, there's four other RVs and a tent. Tomorrow I will drive over to Scottsdale where the motorcycle shop is and pick up my seat for the little Beta, and the check for the sale of my Yamaha WR450. I'm glad that's going to be out of the way now and I can go back to living my normal lifestyle of coming and going as I please.
I signed up for three nights here so besides doing the motorcycle stuff that will give me some time to do laundry, some grocery shopping and maybe a trip to Home Depot.
I don't really need to do laundry right now but it's a handy place to do it, so I might as well. Going to the Home Depot is kind of optional so I'm not sure if I will. It's the grocery shopping that I really need to do and worries me the most.
On the way to Phoenix this morning the radio was saying that Phoenix now has over 14,000 cases of the flu and when I left here a few weeks ago they had less than 2000. And remember those cases are the ones that go to the doctor most people never go to the doctor with the flu so the amount of people with the flu is far far higher than 14,000.
I'm fortunate that living the boondocking lifestyle keeps me away from having contact with crowds of people so I'm a lot safer from the flu than most people are. And I can make choices as to how many people I have to come in contact with so it's really the grocery shopping that's the greatest risk for me. But I've got to have the food so I've got to take the chance.
When I leave here I'll be able to dump my tanks and take on some water so when I get back to Quartzsite I won't have to pay to go to an LTVA so I can dump my tanks, I'll be able to boondock anywhere I want in Quartzsite for at least a month before I have to worry about dumping my tanks again.
