I was trying to take a picture of something interesting while I was fishing and this big white bird got in the way.
Even though it was cloudy and foggy this morning I decided to make the best of it and go fishing. Fortunately in a few hours the sun came out and the day was warm and only partly cloudy.
I went to Packery channel to fish, it being one of the places that the Old Fat Man showed me a few days ago. I didn't have any bait so I just tried various lures to see if anything would work, but they didn't, so I quickly became bored. I don't think that Packery channel is a great place for lures, I'm sure they work sometimes but I believe that bait is the primary means of catching fish at Packery channel.
I think I'm going to re-up and stay here a little longer next to the pier. Partially because I like it here, and because I need tires for the Arctic Fox. I really need to get myself in gear and find some new tires for the Arctic Fox, because at the moment I don't really trust the tires that are on it, and I don't even have a spare. I checked the Walmart closest to me but they don't even have the usual place where they change oil and put on tires, so they don't sell tires at all. There's another Walmart further down the road that I will check out but I think I will probably end up at Discount Tire because I want some stronger tires than the ones that came on the Arctic Fox.
I can't believe it's almost Christmas again, it seems like Christmas comes around every four or five months now. When I was a kid it took years for Christmas to get here, now it seems like it's never completely over. I think I'm only going to buy a present for my two-year-old grandson, because everyone that I should be buying a present for have enough money that they buy whatever they want for themselves, so it's hard to buy things for people that already have so much in their lives. And yes I know it's “the thought that counts” but all of those “thoughts” turn into “things” that nobody needs or wants and it just fills up the closets with stuff that one day will be given or thrown away. And all of us full timers that have sold our homes know that's the way it works.
This bird kept watching me, I think he's a pigeon or a crow or something
He hung around for a while so I named him, Birdy Mcbirdface.
Birdy Mcbirdface hung around until he realized I wasn't going to catch a fish. Dumb bird should've realized that as soon as he recognized me.
