This is my boondocking spot in the lower pits at the Lands End hill climb outside of Grand Junction Colorado
I made it to the hill climb area before lunch and I'm now boondocked in the lower pits. There's only five or six racers here already, because most folks have to work and won't be showing up till Friday afternoon.
Just as I suspected its pretty hot here. And looks like it's going to be in the low 90s the whole time I'm at the race. I can take some pretty warm daytime temperatures as long as it's cool at night and its supposed to be in the mid 60s around here which is kind of marginal for comfortable sleeping as far as I'm concerned.
I've already run into a couple people that I knew from the last race so I feel a lot more at home already than I did at Monarch when I hardly knew anyone. I'm sure almost no one remembered my name but they all recognized me as the guy walking around with a large camera. Everyone else here uses their cell phone to take pictures, I guess I'm about the only one that doesn't nowadays.
This dirt road is called Lands End Road. Those light-colored streaks on the hill straight ahead is where the road shows up through the trees as it zigzags its way to the top, this is the road the drivers are racing on
