Boondocking in Quartzsite Arizona

Back in Quartzsite Arizona once again. My nearest neighbor is a silver high-top van, on the far left, and he's about 1/4 of a mile away.... That's what I call social distancing.

With a weekend coming up and realizing that sometimes a casino can get busy and noisy during the weekend, I decided this was a good time to hat up and head South, which I did until I hit Quartzsite, Arizona.

I stopped at the first boondocking area I came to, which is Plumosa road BLM boondocking area. I'll only be here for one or two nights at the most. I'm planning on spending some time at Dome Rock boondocking area. Usually, when I go to Dome Rock, it's pretty busy, but since things look kind of quiet around here, this might be a good time to spend a few days at the popular Dome Rock area.

I didn't get much of anything done at the Bluewater Casino since it started getting busy right after I got there. So I stopped at Walmart on the way out of town and picked up a few groceries, but it was too early, and the hardware store wasn't open yet so, I guess I'll have to make do with what I can find in Quartzsite. I haven't checked it out yet, but I assume some places that sell RV bits and pieces will be open over at the area where the Big Show will be. Because the longer it takes for me to get a project done, the less interest I have in it; it's that one-track mind thing.

Some strange flowers that I don't recognize, they were growing on bushes at the casino, and the bushes were almost covered with them.

The flowers look somewhat similar, but the bushes they were growing on look completely different.

Will that was odd. Barney did you mean to post that comment back in 2019 are was it supposed to be today? I'll answer in both places just in case.

Yeah Barney, I still have the spare fuel tank in the back of the truck, at the very front of the bed.

I debated long and hard about leaving it in or taking it out, and finally decided to leave it in because diesel fuel is getting so expensive now that carrying an extra tank gives me a place to put more fuel when I can find it cheap.

I was also slightly concerned about the possibility of diesel fuel being hard to find, because of shortages, or shipping problems. So the extra tank gives me just a little extra feeling of security even though I filled it up before I left Denver and I haven't had to use any of it yet.

No I can't feel any difference in the way the truck handles. I think that would be a lot more important if the camper weight was 2500 pounds or so but the little bronco is so light moving it back about six inches hasn't made any noticeable difference in the handling. But if I had a real truck camper that actually weighed over 2000 pounds I would have to be a lot more careful about such things.
