Brantley Lake state Park New Mexico

This is my camping spot at Brantley Lake state Park New Mexico. The sites were pretty small, and this is the only pull-through that was empty. The back-in sites were tiny and way beyond my limited backing skills.

Today marks the beginning of my fifth year of full timing, which isn't a long time by some folks standards, and it doesn't feel like a long time to me either, I'm so happy with my full-timing life every minute is just flying by

 My original plans when I started my full- timing life were to boondock for a while and then every week or so go to an RV Park for a few days to clean up, and catch up on things I couldn't do while boondocking. But It didn't take me long to realize that staying in RV parks paying day rates is expensive, and I didn't really enjoy being around crowds of people when boondocking was the way I really wanted to live. So I found ways of being able to boondock for longer periods of time without going to an RV Park, and I became proficient enough at it that now I seldom go to an RV Park and if I do it's usually an Escapees Park since I'm a member and they have a boondocking area with no hookups for only a few dollars a day.

So here I am at Brantley Lake state Park right between Artesia and Carlsbad New Mexico looking forward to visiting Padre island Texas again and wondering where the last four years have gone.

Actually when you write a blog almost every day it's very easy to see where the time has  gone, just look at your past blog posts. But that still doesn't explain why it feels like I've only been doing this for a few months instead of a few years. This winter travel season I'm going to try and do a better job of appreciating every day. I do appreciate every day but maybe I'm just not reminding myself enough that every day is precious and once it's gone it's gone forever and you can never live it again, so I'm going to be more vigilant in reminding myself to squeeze every minute of happiness, contentment, and joy, out of every single day.

If that doesn't work I'll try to slow down time by being miserable, because nothing makes a day drag by and go on forever like being miserable. So I will,

Go out every day looking for a job. Filling out employment applications, and doing job interviews.

Become a campground host at the worst RV Park in America and listen to people's complaints all day.

Join the Navy and try to become the first 73-year-old man to make it through Seal training.

Spend the entire day watching CNN on television.

Run for president.

The campground is rather small and out in the middle of absolute nowhere. But I had never been here before so I thought I would give it a try. There's a lot of boondocking areas in this park, the New Mexico park system calls them primitive camping, and that's normally where I would've gone but since it was my full-timing anniversary I decided I wanted some electricity so my toaster oven would work so I paid eight dollars for two nights of camping with electricity.
