Chilly weather

The indoor arena being prepared for the barrel races this weekend.

Another chilly day today that barely made it to 60°. It's supposed to warm up for the next four or five days, then drop back into the 50s again. This is definitely not normal. Usually, Arizona will get these cold snaps for a couple of days, then for the next week or two, will be 70 or 80° until the next cold front blows through.

I keep hoping the weather will return to a normal southern Arizona winter, where it's a long sleeve shirt in the morning and a T-shirt the rest of the day, but that never seems to happen.

I've looked at some long-range weather forecasts and see no serious changes in what's happening. But since the weather guessers have a lot of trouble predicting the weather for tomorrow, I have no confidence in what will happen next month.

The only thing I can say is; the weather here is much better than the weather in Denver, so I'm happy I'm here, instead of there.

This is the apparatus that a tractor pulls around the arena floor, that over time, has become the perfect mixture of dirt, horse manure, and tears. This gadget fluffs up the dirt and smooths it out.
