So the postmistress didn't say, sure, just park in the driveway over there.....well. Yes, I can see how people want to be protective of their spot. Glad you got in as much as you did!

That's basically what I thought she would say Judith. Just pull over into that empty field you'll be fine, but that wasn't the case, she was being very nice about the whole thing so I can't complain. But now that I know there's no place to stay there to get early and late pictures, I'm not sure if I'll go back again.

They probably more friendly to folks who look like they will drop a wad of money while staying there.

The few folks that I met there while walking around town seemed like nice people, and reminded me of the folks that lived in Cripple Creek. They definitely didn't have much money, just a wee bit south of normal, but nice folks if you could deal with a few eccentricities.... And I'm pretty sure they felt the same way about me.

Thanks for the pictures. I wonder what they are using the depot for now? I would guess something since they cleaned it up.

Right now I don't think the depot has any real use. It's on the National Register of Historic Places, and looking through the window it looks like they're putting some old furniture inside, antique desks, and things like that.
